Get Creative, Become Your Own CEO Marketing Entrepreneur Likes Co-Working Approach
SACRAMENTO, Calif. –
Just months after receiving a pink slip, Kari Shipman is now the CEO of her own company.
“It’s great so far. It’s exciting to be able to do what I love to do,” Shipman said.
Shipman started her own blog about how to shop at thrift stores.
Marketing entrepreneur Alejandro Reyes said getting started is as simple as logging on.
“Start a blog. This is place where you can update your information,” Reyes said.
Reyes advises people to sign up for Twitter and Facebook, then get out to social networking events.
Shipman and other CEOs have cut even more costs by using a pay-it-forward approach.
“Kari helps me with styling for my Web site and I help with editing for her blog,” editor Janna Santoro said.
Becoming your own CEO doesn’t mean you have to work from home. Now, entrepreneurs are using a new wave networking venue.
Co-working is a shared workspace for independent professionals to come together. It’s more than a coffee shop but not quite an office.
Depending on your attendance and business needs, rent can be as low as $100 a month.
“More people are starting to do what they love. If you’re working in your passion, you’ll never work a day in your life,” Reyes said.
